STEPHEN'S PROLIFIC CAREER HAS TAKEN HIM IN ALL DIRECTIONS FROM MUSICAL THEATRE ON BROADWAY AND THE WEST END TO OPERA AT THE ENO, PARIS AND THE MET IN NEW YORK. HIS VARIED AND SOUGHT AFTER TALENT EXTENDS TO WELL KNOWN TV PROGRAMMES SUCH AS 'SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE', 'THE TRACEY ULLMAN SHOW' AND 'THE VICTORIA WOOD SHOW'. HE HAS ALSO CHOREOGRAPHED MUSIC VIDEOS FOR HIGH PROFILE ARTISTS 'OASIS' AND 'GOLDFRAPP'.
STEPHEN HAS HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF WORKING AND LEARNING FROM SOME OF THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS AND HAS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO CHOREOGRAPH AND DIRECT MANY SUCCESSFUL, BEAUTIFUL AND EXCITING PRODUCTIONS NOT TO MENTION ACHIEVING AN OUTSTANDING COLLECTION OF AWARDS AND NOMINATIONS.

In 2020 Stephen received the Commander of the Order of the British Empire award for his contribution to Dance, his outstanding career and support for the arts has had a positive impact inspiring many.

On the 19th of July 2019 Stephens internationally recognised achievements in musical Theatre have made him an exceptional role model and inspiration. His commitment to his art and dedication to the outstanding colleges which he supports has brought him to the attention of Greenwich University, who have awarded him with an Honorary Doctor of Arts (HonDArts).
CARL ALAN AWARD
In 2015 and 2006 Stephen was presented with this award. It’s an award that honours people who have made a significant contribution to the dance and theatre industry, such as teachers, performers and choreographers. They have been dubbed "the Oscars of the dance world" and are presented by The International Dance Teachers Association.
COMPANION AWARD FROM LIVERPOOL INSTITUTE OF PERFORMING ARTS
An award presented by Sir Paul McCartney in recognition of Stephen’s outstanding professional career which has also assisted and contributed to the learning at LIPA - 2013.
HELLO DOLLY
Stephen received an Olivier Award for Best Theatre Choreography in this 2010 Regent's Park Open Air Theatre Production.
MARY POPPINS
Joint choreographer with Sir Matthew Bourne, London, Broadway, UK tour, US Tour, Australia, Mexico and Vienna, receiving the Olivier Award in 2005 and 2020 for best Theatre Choreographer. LA Drama Circle Critics Award for best Choreography 2010 and in 2011 the Helpmann award in Australia for Best Choreography.
In 2006/2007 they where also nominated for a Tony Award and a Drama Desk award for Best Theatre Choreographer.
